Batik is a traditional cloth dyeing technique originated from Java, Indonesia. Wax is used to draw patterns on the cloth,
and after the wax dries, they will put beautiful colour dyes onto the cloth.Since the wax is waterproof, the colours will NOT dye the part of the fabric that already has wax on it, and that is how a pattern is made.
